The response to our request for food donations going into a trailer at St Patrick's Hall has been far far more than we could ever have expected. Can we get a big thank-you out to this very generous parish please as:
Nga mihi OLOK whānau
When we asked our Parish whānau to donate to our can drive, we thought this might be a small and tangible way you could support our Vinnie's SVdP Covid-19 response in Kāpiti.
We prayed that we might fill half a trailer. But, You, our Parish whānau filled three!
Your response has totally overwhelmed and humbled us. One of our members said as he was packing away your donations, that he now better understands the message of the Gospel and Loaves and Fishes.
Ki te Matua i te rangi nga whakamoemiti me nga whakawhetai ma tenei manaakitanga nui kia koutou.

St Vincent de Paul has been flat out in Kapiti. We have been providing food parcels during Level 4 with ongoing support from the fabulous team at WREMO. In the last week alone, we provided food for 88 people.
Level 3 has seen an increase in families in Kapiti struggling to make ends meet. We’re working with individuals and families who:
- have recently exited emergency housing
- have experienced family harm
- have recently become unemployed or redundant
- and those struggling to pay rent or mortgages and eat with reduced incomes.
Hopefully moving to Level 2 will start making things better, but we still need to be prepared to support our Parish whanau and all that are in need within our area. If you, or someone you know, is in need please contact us at: Rebecca Thomson: 027 434 8244, Eddie Dickson: 029 772 2003, Parish office: 04 902 5815 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your continuing support. Without your prayers, financial support and contributions of food and furniture, we could not provide free support to those where a real need is identified.
Donations can be made to: Society of St Vincent de Paul, ANZ Account 06-0730-0297571-00. Receipts that enable a tax credit will be supplied as records of donations are supplied to us.
Our Lady of Kapiti Conference currently has fifteen active volunteers and if you have an interest in joining us, please contact: John Reardon, President 04 293 6079
